Morfydd Clark

Morfydd Clark is a prominent Welsh actress born on 17 March 1989 in Sweden, who has been recognized for her roles in renowned films and television series. Making her mark in acting since 2014, she has attained reputation for her impeccable performances in 'Love & Friendship' (2016), 'Interlude in Prague' (2017), and 'The Personal History of David Copperfield' (2019). Her television credits include the roles of Mina Harker in 'Dracula' (2020) and Sister Clara in 'His Dark Materials' (2019). The actress reached a pinnacle in her career with her character, Maud in the film 'Saint Maud' (2019) where she earned a BAFTA Cymru and garnered BIFA and BAFTA Rising Star Award nominations.

Born in Sweden, Morfydd moved to Penarth, Wales, when she was two and is bilingual in English and Welsh. Her early acting experience was playing Mrs Dai Bread in a school production of 'Under Milk Wood'. After struggling with dyslexia and ADHD, she left school at sixteen, later completing her A Levels and receiving training at the Drama Centre London. Her career began to take off when she left Drama Centre to star in Saunders Lewis's play 'Blodeuwedd'. She then appeared in an array of theatrical productions, films, and television projects. Morfydd later garnered attention for her role as Galadriel in the Amazon Prime series 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' (2022–present), proud of her Welsh background influencing her bilingual character's portrayal.
