Nikki Amuka-Bird, born on 27th February 1976, is a celebrated British actress known for her versatile stage, television, and film performances. Her birthplace is Delta State, Nigeria, but she spent her formative years between England, Lagos, and Antigua. As a child, her initial aspiration was to become a dancer, but a back injury redirected her path towards acting.

Amuka-Bird honed her acting skills at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) which opened the door to her extensive stage career with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). Some of her notable theatrical credits include roles in 'Welcome to Thebes,' 'Twelfth Night,' and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.' Amuka-Bird's talent is not confined to the theater, she transitioned successfully into film and television. Her film credits include 'The Omen (2006 remake),' 'Cargo,' 'Almost Heaven,' and the screen adaptation of Alexander McCall Smith's novel 'The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.' On television, she has appeared in popular series such as 'Spooks,' 'The Last Enemy,' and 'Robin Hood,' displaying a dynamic range of performances. She also voiced the Glass Woman in the Doctor Who Christmas Special 'Twice Upon a Time.' Currently, she plays the role of Rav Mulclair, Head of Judd Mission Control, in HBO's 'Avenue 5.'
