Patrick Galen Dempsey (born January 13, 1966), is an American actor and racing driver who reached international fame due to his unforgettable role as Dr. Derek 'McDreamy' Shepherd in ABC's medical drama series Grey's Anatomy. Dempsey's career started in films such as Can't Buy Me Love (1987) and Loverboy (1989), later on exploring romantic comedy films like Sweet Home Alabama (2002) and Bridget Jones's Baby (2016).
