Paul Gleason

Paul Xavier Gleason (May 4, 1939 – May 27, 2006) was an American film and television actor known for his roles on television series such as All My Children and films such as The Breakfast Club, Trading Places, and Die Hard. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he ran away from home at age 16 to hitchhike across the east coast. He played football with Burt Reynolds at Florida State University and signed a professional baseball contract with the Cleveland Indians. His introduction to Ozzie Nelson on a West Coast trip led to an acting career starting in 1965. Gleason starred in many movies, often as an antagonistic figure. He gained further recognition playing antagonist roles in films like Johnny Be Good, Van Wilder, and several episodes of TV sitcom Boy Meets World. Gleason also appeared in prominent roles in Ewoks: The Battle for Endor and Die Hard. He continued TV roles right up to 2006, including appearances on Dawson's Creek, Friends, and Seinfeld.
