Rami Said Malek, an American actor, is known for his brilliant portrayal of computer hacker Elliot Alderson in the USA Network television series Mr. Robot (2015–2019), for which he received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He shot to global fame for his nuanced portrayal of Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury in the biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). This role won him several accolades, making him the first actor of Egyptian heritage to win the Academy Award for Best Actor.

Malek was born in Torrance, California, to Egyptian immigrant parents and started his journey by studying theater before finding roles in plays in New York City. His career took a leap with supporting roles in film and television, notably the Fox sitcom The War at Home (2005–2007), HBO miniseries The Pacific (2010), and the Night at the Museum film trilogy (2006–2014). His subsequent work includes the crime film The Little Things (2021), playing the antagonist Lyutsifer Safin in the James Bond film No Time to Die (2021), and portraying David Hill in Christopher Nolan's biographical film Oppenheimer (2023). Malek is celebrated for the depth and diversity of his roles, often physically transforming himself and undertaking substantial research to bring credibility to his characters.
