Renette Pauline Soutendijk, known professionally as Renée Soutendijk, is a celebrated Dutch actress. Born on 21 May 1957, Soutendijk started her career as a gymnast before venturing into acting in the late 1970s. She quickly became a favorite star of director Paul Verhoeven's films, notably starring in his 1980 release Spetters and 1983's The Fourth Man, securing her status as a Dutch sex symbol. Soutendijk also sought to establish herself in the United States in the late 1980s, taking on roles like the science fiction film Eve of Destruction in 1991. More recently, since the 2000s, she has transitioned to television and stage roles, including one of the leads in the 2012 RTL 4 television series Moordvrouw, and supporting roles in the American drama A Perfect Man and Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria.
