Richard Edson

Richard Edson is a multifaceted artist from America, known for his work as an actor and musician. Born on January 1, 1954, he embarked on his career in 1979. Initially, his talent surfaced in the music industry. He was among the founding members of 'The Alterboys', a San Francisco art rock band. In this band, Edson proved his dexterity by playing both drums and trumpet. His association with music deepened when he became the original drummer for 'Sonic Youth' from 1981 to 1982. Simultaneously, he played drums for 'Konk'. His affinity for music did not sway only towards playing instruments as he also contributed to the music of 'The Offs' as a trumpet player.

After his fruitful journey in music, Edson stepped into acting. His first appearance was in Jim Jarmusch's cult film Stranger Than Paradise, playing the character 'Eddie'. His versatility shined as he portrayed a wide array of characters; playing everything from a parking garage attendant in Ferris Bueller's Day Off to a gambler in Eight Men Out. Not limiting himself to movies, he also made appearances in TV Series such as The Adventures of Pete & Pete and Shannon's Deal. His most recent performance was in 2019's 3 From Hell.
