Ronny Cox

Daniel Ronald Cox, famously known as Ronny Cox, is an American actor, singer-songwriter, and talented storyteller. Born on July 23, 1938, Cox spent his early years in the mountain town of Cloudcroft, New Mexico. His humble beginnings were a crucial step in his journey, spending his youth in a family of five children with his father working as a carpenter and at a dairy. He met his wife, Mary, when she was 11 and he was 14, and they started dating when she was 15 and he was 18. They finally wedded in 1960. Cox's life is replete with tales of love and loss; Mary died in 2006, 50 years to their first date, a memory he often revisits during his music performances.

His illustrious career in film and television began in 1972, featuring in several popular films and shows, from his debut in 'Deliverance' to 'Star Trek: Prodigy' in 2022-2024. Despite achieving paramount success in acting, music holds a special place in Cox's life, rejecting 90% of acting jobs to perform over 100 shows at festivals and theatres each year. He was inducted into the New Mexico Music Hall of Fame in 2019 and was a recipient of the Norman Petty Producers Award in 2021.
