Rory Scovel

Rory J. Scovel (born August 6, 1980) is a versatile American actor, writer, and comedian who made his debut in the world of entertainment in the mid-2000s. An accomplished stand-up comedian, Scovel released his first comedy album 'Dilation' in 2011, following which he presented audience with a series of stand-up specials including 'The Charleston Special' (2015), 'Rory Scovel Tries Stand-Up for the First Time' (2017), 'Live Without Fear' (2021), and 'Religion, Sex, and a Few Things in Between' (2024). His acting portfolio began with his substantive roles in TV comedies like 'Ground Floor' (2013 – 2015), 'Those Who Can't' (2016–2019), and later in the movie 'I Feel Pretty' (2018). Scovel is also admired for his contributions as writer and performer for 'The Eric Andre Show' (2012–2016). In the new decade, Scovel has been recognized for his roles in his show 'Robbie' (2020) and the Apple TV+ series 'Physical' (2021–2023) among others. Scovel was born in Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina Upstate, which also cruise him on his path to success. His journey started from an open mic night in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2003, followed by moving to Washington D.C., New York City and finally, Los Angeles. Besides his nationwide tours doing stand-ups and comedy special performances, Scovel has opened for famous comedians such as Louis C.K., Nick Swardson, and Daniel Tosh, and performed at several well-known festivals. Scovel also ventured into podcasting and co-hosted 'The Pen Pals Podcast' with Daniel Van Kirk since 2018. Offstage, Scovel is married to actress Jordan Boughrum, with whom he has one daughter.
