Rósa Arianna 'Rose' McGowan, born September 5, 1973, is an American actress and activist known for her roles in films and television shows, as well as her tireless advocacy in the #MeToo movement. She rose to prominence in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995), earning an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. Later, she would be known for her breakthrough role in the horror film Scream (1996) and subsequently headlined films such as Going All the Way (1997), Devil in the Flesh (1998), and Jawbreaker (1999). In the 2000s, she gained fame on television for her role as Paige Matthews in the supernatural drama series Charmed. More recently, her tremendous courage in speaking out about sexual assault and harassment in Hollywood, particularly in regard to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases, led Time to recognize her as one of the 'Silence Breakers', the magazine's Person of the Year in 2017.
