**Ruth Díaz Muriedas**, born on January 25, 1975, is a renowned Spanish actress. Known widely for her breakthrough performance in the 2016 film *The Fury of a Patient Man*, Ruth Díaz gained recognition in the field of acting, which earned her esteemed awards. Born in Reinosa, Province of Santander, Ruth began gracing the stage at the tender age of 17, where she notably excelled in a representation of *Fortunata y Jacinta* at the Teatro Español in Madrid in 1993. She pursued her education in theater arts at RESAD, a reputable institution. After graduation, she delved into the world of acting starting with stage plays and network drama series. Her first television role was in the police drama series *El comisario* in 1999, after which she made her feature film debut in the 2001 film *Killer Housewives*. She further expanded her repertoire with roles in films *Para entrar a vivir* and *El calentito*, and made appearances in television series including *Al salir de clase* (2001), *Hospital Central* (2003), *Amar en tiempos revueltos* (2009), *Los misterios de Laura* (2010) and *Cuéntame* (2012). There was a brief hiatus in her career due to her pregnancy and economic crisis. However, she also ventured into film direction with the 2013 short film Porsiemprejamón. Following this, she made a dynamic comeback to cinema with *The Fury of a Patient Man*. In 2018, she showcased her talent by playing the character of Mercedes Carrillo in the third season of *Locked Up* and garnered the role of Laura in *El pueblo*.
