Ryan Kwanten

Ryan Christian Kwanten, Australian actor and producer, was born on 28 November 1976 and has been active in the entertainment industry since 1991. Starting his acting career on television shows like A Country Practice, Hey Dad..! and Spellbinder, he quickly moved onto the Australian soap opera Home and Away where he played lifeguard Vinnie Patterson from 1997 to 2002. His move to the United States proved fruitful as he was cast as Jay Robertson in Summerland (2004–05) and appeared in the films Flicka (2006) and Dead Silence (2007). He showed his versatility when he voiced the role of Kludd in the animated-epic film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole in 2010. His most notable role to date is Jason Stackhouse in the HBO series True Blood, which aired from 2008 until 2014. Subsequent significant roles include playing Marvel character "Venom" in the short film Truth in Journalism (2013), Conall in the action adventure film Northmen: A Viking Saga (2014), and Blinky Bill, a koala in Blinky Bill the Movie (2015). He produced and starred in the crime drama series The Oath from 2018 to 2019 and recently played in Them and Kindred series. Apart from acting, he earned a degree in commerce from The University of Sydney. Born as one of the three brothers, he was raised in New South Wales, with his mother working as a Lifeline op shop coordinator and his father a worker at NSW Maritime.
