Sam Troughton

Sam John Troughton, born 21 March 1977, is an acclaimed English actor of both stage and screen. He is best known for his work in a wide range of high profile film, television, and theater projects. His major appearances include roles in Robin Hood (2006–2009), Alien vs. Predator (2004), Hex (2005), The Town (2012), The Hollow Crown (2016), The Ritual (2017), Peterloo (2018), Chernobyl (2019), The Outlaws (2021), Litvinenko (2022), and Napoleon (2023). Aside from his significant roles in popular media, Troughton is esteemed as a Shakespearean actor and has worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company. His contributions to classic plays have led him to thrice be nominated (2000, 2001, 2002) for the esteemed Ian Charleson Awards -- awards recognized for young actors' performances within classic plays.
