She was born in Dallas, Texas, but spent her growing years in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After high school, French moved to Columbia, Missouri to study Broadcast Journalism at the University of Missouri. French has held titles like Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2004 and Miss Missouri 2006. Her beauty pageant career is characterized by a string of successes and awards, including the Miss Photogenic award at the Miss Teen USA 2004 pageant, and the Miss America 2007 Smile Award.
