Sarah Kate Silverman, born December 1, 1970, is an American stand-up comedian, actress, and writer. She first gained prominence for her brief stint as a writer and cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live in the 1993-1994 season. Subsequently, she starred in and produced The Sarah Silverman Program from 2007 to 2010 on Comedy Central, earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Silverman has also acted in various television projects and starred in films such as School of Rock (2003), Take This Waltz (2011), and Battle of the Sexes (2017). She voiced Vanellope von Schweetz in Wreck-It Ralph (2012) and its sequel. For her lead role in I Smile Back (2015), she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Silverman released an autobiography The Bedwetter in 2010, which she adapted into an off-Broadway musical in 2022.

Her comedy addresses social taboos and controversial topics, including racism, sexism, and politics in a satirical manner. Silverman became increasingly politically active during the 2016 US presidential election, initially campaigning for Bernie Sanders and later supporting Hillary Clinton. From 2017 until late 2018, she hosted the Hulu late-night talk show I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman.
