As a television personality, he has proven his versatility with notable roles such as Detective Temple Page in The District and Professor Macalester in Vixen from 2015 to 2016. Born to immigrant parents from Guyana, he grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, pursued BA at the University of Virginia, and later decided to chase his passion for acting, obtaining an MFA from New York University's prestigious Graduate Acting Program. His acting journey started in the mid-1990s, entertaining audiences with minor roles in several movies and then gradually achieving prominence with leading roles, especially the teen romance movie 'Save the Last Dance', which performed exceptionally, grossing over $90 million domestically. He delivered credible performances in 'Barbershop' and 'Halloween: Resurrection'.
