Shea Whigham

Shea Whigham (born January 5, 1969), is a highly acclaimed American actor known predominantly for his role as Elias "Eli" Thompson in the drama series Boardwalk Empire. Starting his acting career in 1997, Whigham found recognition in diverse roles across television and film. He featured in the first season of the series True Detective, the third season of Fargo, and in numerous films such as Take Shelter, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Joker. His versatility is exemplified by appearances in high-profile projects like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and thriller Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. He has also reprised his role as Agent Michael Stasiak in the Fast & Furious franchise. Whigham hails from Tallahassee, Florida, and attended the State University of New York at Purchase, where he co-founded the theatre troupe the Rorschach Group. He then kick-started his career with a starring role in the film Tigerland in 2000 and has continued to surprise audiences with his performances ever since. In 2019, he starred in the television series Homecoming alongside Julia Roberts, earning a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination. In 2020, he notably played Pete Strickland on HBO's reimagining of Perry Mason.
