Shinobu Terajima

Shinobu Terajima (Terajima Shinobu) is a prolific Japanese actress born on December 28, 1972, known for her appearances in various feature films. Some of her highlighted works include Akame 48 Waterfalls (2003), and Vibrator (2003). She garnered international recognition when she won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the prestigious 60th Berlin Film Festival for her role in Caterpillar (2010). Moreover, her performance in Oh Lucy! (2017) landed her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actress. Born into a family immersed in the art of acting, her father Onoe Kikugorō VII was a revered kabuki actor and her mother Sumiko Fuji, a celebrated actress. Following in their footsteps, she has made a significant contribution to the film industry. Terajima's versatility as an actress is reflected in her expansive filmography, which includes wide-ranging roles in films like Happy Flight, Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles (2005), Yamato (2005), and The Fallen Angel (2010).
