Susse Wold, born as Lise Wold on 17 November 1938, is a renowned Danish actress with a career that has spanned over five decades. Born in Frederiksberg, Denmark, she hails from an artistic lineage - her mother being the famous actress Marguerite Viby. Wold quickly rose to fame becoming a leading lady at the prestigious Royal Danish Theatre or Det Kongelige Teater. Notably, her artistic prowess isn't merely limited to acting, as she has toured the globe reciting the works of H.C. Andersen. Her marriage was to noted Danish actor Bent Mejding, who unfortunately has passed away in 2024. Following a brief hiatus from her acting career, Wold marked her return with the acclaimed movie 'The Hunt' in 2012. Besides her impeccable acting skills, Wold also showcased her talent as a singer. Often partnering with Peter Sørensen, she has released over a dozen albums and singles under record labels like Tono, Sonet Records, and Pool Records from 1959 to the early 1990s. Some other notable highlights of her illustrious career include her role in 'Matador', a highly acclaimed Danish TV series, receiving a Knighthood in the Order of the Dannebrog from Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and winning the Tagea Brandt Rejselegat (Travel Award) in 1969.
