Ted Billings (April 7, 1880 – July 5, 1947) was an American character actor whose career spanned both the silent and sound film eras. Born in London, England, on April 7, 1880, Billings made his movie debut with the role of the Witch in 1917's 'The Babes in the Woods'. This early work saw him acting alongside Francis Carpenter and Virginia Lee Corbin. Billings' career saw him appearing in over 100 films, many of which saw him in unnamed, un-credited roles. However, his contribution to the field of acting and motion pictures was significant. Some of the highly notable films he featured in include the 1935's 'Bride of Frankenstein', where he played the role of Ludwig alongside Boris Karloff, and the 1937 version of 'The Prince and the Pauper', which also featured Errol Flynn, Claude Rains, and the Mauch twins Billy and Bobby. His work also saw him featuring in the 1942 release 'Mrs. Miniver' and the 1947 comedy 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty'. Billings' final screen appearance was in 'Forever Amber', released just three months after his death in July 1947.
