Timothy L. McInnerny, known by his stage name as Tim McInnerny, is a British actor born on 18 September 1956 in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. Known for his extensive roles on stage and television, McInnerny first garnered fame during the 1980s in the British sitcom Blackadder, in which he played the roles of Lord Percy Percy and Captain Darling. However, his talent is not confined to comedic roles, as seen in his significant performance in the highly acclaimed 1985 BBC TV serial Edge of Darkness. McInnerny has continued to make impactful appearances in various TV series upgrading his resume with appearances in Law & Order: UK (2011) and the fan-favorite HBO series Game of Thrones in 2016. Beyond television, his acting career extends to theater and music video performances. In 1985, he shared the stage with Anthony Hopkins in Pravda, and in 2007, he played Iago in Othello at Shakespeare's Globe in London. McInnerny also has ties to the music scene, co-starring in the music video for Kate Bush's song 'This Woman's Work' in 1989 and appearing in the Westlife video for 'Uptown Girl'. He has also been known for his deep appreciation and knowledge of sitcoms, praising the brilliance of the writers of 70s ITV sitcoms despite their now-outdated content.
