Timothy Spall

Timothy Leonard Spall OBE (born 27 February 1957) is a well-recognised English actor known for his prominent stage and screen character roles. He is celebrated for his repeated collaborations with director Mike Leigh, starring in six of his films including Home Sweet Home (1982), Life is Sweet (1990), Secrets & Lies (1996), Topsy-Turvy (1999), All or Nothing (2002), and Mr. Turner (2014). He was nominated for the BAFTA Best Actor for Secrets and Lies, and won Cannes Film Festival Best Actor for his portrayal of J. M. W. Turner in Mr. Turner. Timothy Spall was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2000 by Queen Elizabeth II. He also achieved the 2024 BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor for his role as Peter Farquhar in The Sixth Commandment. He is also known for roles in many films including Hamlet, Still Crazy, Nicholas Nickleby, The Last Samurai, Enchanted, Sweeney Todd, The Damned United, The King's Speech, Ginger and Rosa, Denial, The Party, and Spencer, and for voicing Nick in Chicken Run. He starred as Peter Pettigrew in five Harry Potter films.
