Ulrich Thomsen

Ulrich Thomsen is a renowned Danish actor and filmmaker who has been prominent in the film industry since 1994. He is celebrated for his compelling role as Christian in the 1998 film 'The Celebration' and as Kai Proctor in the critically acclaimed Cinemax original series 'Banshee' which ran from 2013 to 2016. Born on the 6th of December, 1963 in Odense, Denmark, Thomsen polished his acting skills at the Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance, graduating in 1993. He then gained experience performing in several notable theatres in Copenhagen, such as Dr. Dantes Aveny, Mungo Park, and Østre Gasværks Teater. Thomsen made his cinematic debut in the 1994 movie 'Nightwatch', under the direction of Ole Bornedal. However, his career truly took off after his soul-stirring performance in the 1998 film 'Festen' and his pivotal role in the James Bond film 'The World Is Not Enough' in 1999. His portrayal of villainous henchman Sasha Davidov in 'The World Is Not Enough' helped cement his status as an internationally recognized actor. Fluent in Danish, German, and English, Thomsen's linguistic versatility added depth to his roles. Thomsen is also an active proponent of Veganism.
