Ving Rhames

Irving Rameses Rhames (born May 12, 1959) is best known for his roles in the 'Mission: Impossible' film series as IMF Agent Luther Stickell and Marsellus Wallace in 'Pulp Fiction'. A native of Harlem, he discovered his passion for acting while attending New York's High School of Performing Arts. He later studied drama at SUNY Purchase, where he got his nickname 'Ving', before transferring to Juilliard. His acting career started on Broadway before his debut on the big screen. He received a Golden Globe in 1998 for Best Actor. His most notable roles include, among others, a computer hacker Luther Stickell opposite Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible series, and Marsellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction.

Beyond acting, Rhames is known for his generosity, once giving his Golden Globe to Jack Lemmon, a fellow nominee. His later roles include a part in the video game 'Driver 3', the voiceover for Cobra Bubbles in 'Lilo & Stitch' and several television commercials for RadioShack. Rhames also narrates the BET television series 'American Gangster' and has provided narration for numerous Arby's commercials since 2014. He's also involved in music, having made an appearance in Ludacris's song 'Southern Gangstas'.
