William Petersen

William Louis Petersen, an American actor, is best known for his role as Gil Grissom in the CBS drama thriller series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation from 2000 to 2015. He was successful in portraying the character so profusely that he won a Screen Actors Guild Award and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Additionally, he was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards through his role as a producer of the show. Notably, Petersen reprised his role as Gil Grissom in the sequel CSI: Vegas, which premiered on October 6, 2021. This award-winning actor has also starred in various films, including To Live and Die in L.A. (1985), Manhunter (1986), Young Guns II (1990), Fear (1996), The Contender (2000), Detachment (2011), and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012). Throughout his career, Petersen has played versatile roles, whether a Secret Service agent in To Live and Die in L.A. or the infamous Patrick Floyd "Pat" Garrett in Young Guns II. Petersen's passion for acting extends beyond the screen, as he is also an active theater performer and a member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company since 2008.
