Yoson An (Chinese: 安柚鑫; born June 22, 1992) is a Chinese-New Zealand actor and filmmaker. Born in Guangdong, he grew up learning English at an international school in Macau. Before his family migrated to New Zealand seeking better economic opportunities, eventually settling in Auckland when An was seven years old. Despite not having an education within the Chinese system, An is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin, although he does not read or write Chinese. His Mandarin skills saw further improvement with the help of an ex-girlfriend from Taiwan. An holds his education history at the Saint Kentigern College in Pakuranga Auckland, where he pursued music and participated in multiple school productions. An's acting career commenced from small projects in 2012 until his major breakthrough in Ghost Bride. His career escalated further when he was cast in Dead Lucky in 2017 and then in the Walt Disney Pictures live-action movie adaption of Mulan in 2018, where he was reunited with Dead Lucky co-star Xana Tang. Apart from being an accomplished actor, An is a karate black belt and is a pet father to a black cat named Luna.
