Yuri Kolokolnikov

Yuri Andreyevich Kolokolnikov, recognized widely for his remarkable performance as Styr in the television series Game of Thrones and as Gennadi Bystrov in The Americans, is a keen Russian stage and film actor who started his acting journey since 1994. Born on December 15, 1980, in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, Yuri moved to Canada in 1985 with his mother post his parents' divorce. Being acclaimed both in Russia and Canada, the industrious actor is a dual citizen of these nations. Yuri's tumultuous childhood led him back to Russia to live with his father after a few years in Canada. However, this didn't deter his passion for acting; he soon started film school and even got involved with the production of shows for children.

His father's encouragement led him to audition for the director Savva Kulish, where Kolokolnikov bagged a small role in the film Iron Curtain. After completing high school at 15, he became part of the acclaimed Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute. Graduating, he ventured into Hollywood but failure to get recognition brought him back to Moscow. His career got a break in 2002 when he met director Kirill Serebrennikov who offered him a role in the series Diary of a Killer. Besides, he performed the voice-over for the annual educational action 'Total dictation' in 2013 at MSU Faculty of Journalism. His incredible performance in 2016 Russian comedy Breakfast with Daddy and 2017's The Hitman's Bodyguard rightly speak volume of his versatility and excellence. He also appeared in the adaptation of The Master and Margarita in 2024.
