Adam Robitel, born on May 26, 1978, is an esteemed American film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. He is most prominently acclaimed for directing horror movies including The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014), Insidious: The Last Key (2018), Escape Room (2019) and its sequel, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021). In addition, he made well-received contributions as a co-writer for Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015). In his early career, his spec script, The Bloody Benders, attracted the attention of revered filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro, and was Robitel's first officially optioned property. Most recently, Robitel has engaged in thrilling collaborations. Deadline Hollywood reported in July 2021 that Robitel and fellow screenwriter Gavin Heffernan teamed up with Darren Aronofsky on a thriller series for Netflix titled The Craving. A year prior, in July 2019, Deadline Hollywood announced that both Heffernan and Robitel were working with Sam Raimi on an 'Untitled Supernatural Thriller' for Sony Pictures. Having graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Robitel's vast contributions to cinema were cultivated through a robust cinematic education.
