Ben Stassen

Ben Stassen, born in 1959, is a revered Belgian film director and producer. His career is characterized by diversity and innovation, creating a substantial impact in the world of computer graphics and 3D technology in cinema. He made his first notable mark in the film industry in 1988, contributing greatly to the film community for over 30 years. Stassen is also known as the founder of nWave Pictures in 1994, a studio known for CG ride films such as 'Devil's Mine'. As the years went by, he devoted attention on large-format films, directing 'Thrill Ride: The Science of Fun' and 'Alien Adventure'. His contribution to the world of large-format films was highlighted in the late 1990s when he directed films like 'Encounter in the Third Dimension' and 'Haunted Castle'.

Stassen was the creative mind behind 'Wild Safari 3D', produced and directed in 2005, marking the first 3-D wildlife film for the giant screen. His first feature-length animated film, 'Fly Me to the Moon' got released in North America. This film marked another premiere in the industry, being the first animated film to be designed, created, and released solely in 3D. Stassen continued his filmmaking prowess with other animated features like 'A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures', 'The House of Magic', 'The Wild Life', 'The Son of Bigfoot', and 'The Queen's Corgi'. His latest project, 'Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness', is expected to release in 2022, adding to his prolific repertoire.
