Benjamin Renner

Benjamin Renner, born on 14 November 1983, is a distinguished French cartoonist, animator, and filmmaker. His brilliant career has been marked by the creation of several acclaimed projects in both animation and comics. He first ventured into the film industry as a director of short films before taking on more ambitious roles in feature films. Among his early works was a short film titled La queue de la souris (The Mouse's Tail) in 2008. However, his career milestone and notable work came with the feature film Ernest & Celestine in 2012. The film earned him and his fellow producers a nomination for an Academy Award in 2014 in the Best Animated Feature category. A multi-talented artist, Renner is also recognized for his contribution to the comic book world. He wrote and illustrated the comic Le grand mechant renard (The Big Bad Fox) in 2015, which he later adapted into a highly successful feature film titled The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales in 2017. His recent project includes the direction of an original animated film for Universal Pictures and Illumination, Migration, which was released to critical acclaim on December 22, 2023.
