Conrad Vernon

**Conrad Vernon** is a renowned American voice actor, director, producer, writer, and storyboard artist. Born on July 11, 1968, in Lubbock, Texas, he is recognized for his work on notable DreamWorks productions, including the Shrek film series, Monsters vs. Aliens, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, and Penguins of Madagascar. In addition to his DreamWorks repertoire, he co-directed non-DreamWorks films such as Sony Pictures' Sausage Party and MGM's The Addams Family. Vernon, a native of Texas, attempted to pursue his passion for animation through intensive studies at CalArts and began his career as a storyboard artist for animated features, including Ralph Bakshi's Cool World. Starting his professional journey in 1991, he joined DreamWorks in 1996, where he started as a storyboard artist on Antz. This film was a significant turning point in his career, as it proved to be the first successful animated feature produced by DreamWorks Animation. Subsequent to the success of Antz, Vernon took up writing roles, most notably for Shrek, where he breathed life into the beloved character of the Gingerbread Man. He didn't stop there and proceeded to lend his voice to the character. The success of Shrek led him to make his directorial debut with the Academy Award-nominated Shrek 2 in 2004. Apart from his animated ventures, in 2017, Vernon was also involved in directing a live-action feature adaptation of The Jetsons by Warner Bros.
