Dibakar Banerjee

**Dibakar Banerjee**, born on 21st June 1969, is a distinct Indian film director, screenwriter, producer and advertisement filmmaker renowned for his work in Hindi films. Banerjee initiated his career in advertising but to his credits, still sustains as an ad-filmmaker while also being a feature filmmaker. He runs his own film production company, named after himself, *Dibakar Banerjee Productions*. Notable among his works are **Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006)** and **Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008)**, which both bagged National Film Awards. His subsequent experimental film was **Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010)**, followed by the political drama **Shanghai (2012)** and **Bombay Talkies (2013)**, made to commemorate a hundred years of Indian cinema. **Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015)** is another masterpiece in his kitty, which is based on a fictional character Byomkesh Bakshi. Banerjee's journey began in New Delhi, where he studied at Bal Bharati Public School, Delhi. Subsequently joining National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad for a course in visual communication and graphic design, he dropped out after two and a half years to return to Delhi and join the world of advertising.
