Dominik Moll

Dominik Moll (Born 7 May 1962) is a notorious German-born French film director and screenwriter, known for his profound influence and contributions in the film industry. Moll's roots are an amalgamation of German and French cultures, his father being German and his mother being French. This cultural mosaic heavily contributed to his unique storytelling style. Early on in his career, Moll pursued film studies at the City College of New York and later at the French National Film School (IDHEC), establishing a solid foundation for his blossoming career. His filmography includes a range of profound and critically-acclaimed works. His debut feature Intimité was released in 1994 and set the stage for future success.

Moll's second feature film, Harry, He's Here to Help, was screened in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000, setting a milestone in his career. Not stopping there, his next work, Lemming, earned the honor of opening the Cannes Film Festival in 2005. He has been recognized multiple times for his directorial prowess, winning the prestigious César Award for Best Director twice, first in 2001 for Harry, He's Here to Help, and later in 2023, for The Night of the 12th. The latter also winning the Best Film at the 48th César Awards. Despite his massive success, Moll maintains a zealous commitment to his craft, still active in the industry.
