Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, born 5 December 1967, is a multi-talented Spanish film personality renowned for his roles as a director, script writer, and producer. He has left indelible marks in the industry with his remarkable works like Intacto and 28 Weeks Later, the sequel to Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later, garnering global fame. Fresnadillo's debut, the black-and-white short film Esposados, won 40 national and international awards and was nominated for the prestigious Academy Award for Best Short Film in 1996, marking him as a rising star in Spanish filmmaking. Known for his inspiring storylines, Fresnadillo’s personal experiences reflects in his work as seen in his film Intacto, which was inspired by the Tenerife airport disaster he witnessed at the age of nine. His first full-length picture, Intacto, received recognition and brought him several awards, including two 2002 Goya Awards and six further Goya nominations. Fresnadillo further showcased his creative impulse by directing the black-and-white picture Psicotaxi, featuring Alejandro Jodorowsky. Fresnadillo's endeavours extended to prestigious assignments like co-writing the screenplay and directing the remake of The Crow. Although this assignment didn't make it to finalization, his subsequent projects added distinct value to his profile. He is currently associated with the Millie Bobby Brown film Damsel, which is anticipated to stand as another top-notch creation in his bucket.
