Stéphane Aubier

Stéphane Aubier (born on October 8, 1964) is a distinguished Belgian film director and screenwriter recognized for his extraordinary contributions to the world of animated cinema. Aubier's artistic journey took a significant leap forward in 2009 when he co-wrote and directed the groundbreaking animated film *A Town Called Panic*. Working alongside Vincent Patar, Aubier managed to enchant the audiences at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival where their creation was the first stop-motion film ever to be screened. This accomplishment marked Aubier's initiation into the elite circle of innovative filmmakers who garnered attention on a global scale. In 2013, another notable animated film, *Ernest & Celestine* was brought to life, once again, under Aubier's expert direction, this time partnering with Patar and a new collaborator, Benjamin Renner. Their critically acclaimed film nabbed three esteemed Magritte Awards, including accolades for Best Film and Best Director awarded to Aubier and Patar respectively. The artistic trio's success didn't stop there. The film earned itself a prestigious nomination at the 86th Academy Awards for the category of Best Animated Feature, cementing Aubier's reputation as a visionary force to be reckoned within the animation industry.
