Patar made international headlines in 2009 with his animated film, A Town Called Panic, co-written and co-directed with Stéphane Aubier. The film, renowned for its unique storytelling and animation style, premiered at the prestigious 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Notably, it was the first stop-motion film to be screened at the festival, marking a significant milestone in the history of animated cinema. Patar's impact did not stop there. In 2013, he co-directed Ernest & Celestine with Aubier and Benjamin Renner, which received widespread critical acclaim.
