Here is the rewritten text:

Anthony Papazian, a battle-hardened Marine, has just returned to his Arizona home after a grueling tour abroad, but his demons from the battlefield won't let him rest. Suffering from debilitating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), he's plagued by vivid nightmares that disrupt his sleep and haunt his waking hours. His strained relationship with ex-wife Jenny Anderson has soured to the point of a restraining order being filed against him, and his brushes with the law have left him feeling like an outcast.

In this tumultuous landscape, Anthony finds solace in his unlikely friendship with neighbor Cheryl Cook, whom he fiercely defends from her abusive boyfriend. Cheryl's young son Wade Leabu takes an instant liking to Anthony, and the two form a bond that transcends their vastly different backgrounds. When Wade comes to Anthony in distress, seeking help for his mother's life-threatening heroin overdose, Anthony feels compelled to intervene, despite his own struggles.

Together, they rush to University Medical Center in a desperate bid to save Cheryl's life, but tragically, she succumbs to her addiction. In the aftermath, social services worker Jolene San Giacomo steps in, allowing Anthony to take on guardianship of Wade while they search for a suitable foster family. As Anthony navigates this new role, he encourages Wade to stand up to his tormentors and, when a teacher tries to intervene, he finds himself taking a firm stance against authority, much to the dismay of police officer George Dutton.

When Wade's carelessness results in the accidental killing of Anthony's loyal canine companion, the consequences are dire. Anthony is arrested on multiple charges, and Wade is eventually placed into foster care. It takes Jolene's persistence and Anthony's growing sense of responsibility for him to finally agree to prioritize his own well-being, allowing her to grant him limited access to Wade once more.
