Anamaria Marinca

**Anamaria Marinca**, born on 1st April 1978, is a prominent actress hailing from Romania. She first made her way into the limelight with her debut in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic, a role that catapulted her to winning the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Marinca's performance in the film _4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days_ didn't go unnoticed either, earning her numerous accolades and nominations, including the European Film Award for Best Actress and the London Film Critics Circle Award for Actress of the Year among others. At the 58th Berlin International Film Festival held in 2008, Anamaria was presented with the coveted Shooting Stars Award by the esteemed European Film Promotion. Marinca was raised with a strong foundation in arts, courtesy of her mother, a classically trained violinist, and her father, a professor of theatre. At a tender age of seven, she expressed her interest in acting. Marinica graduated from the renowned University of Fine Arts, Music and Drama "George Enescu" located in Iași. Her breakthrough performance in Sex Traffic earned her multiple Best Actress Awards. Having a diverse acting portfolio, Marinca's works range from Romanian theatre productions to her appearance in Measure for Measure at the National Theatre in London. Her accolade collection also includes a Palme d'Or from the 2007 Cannes Film Festival for her stellar performance in the Romanian film _4 luni, 3 săptămâni și 2 zile_. She has also left her footprints in internationally acclaimed projects like Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth and the Welsh TV detective series Hinterland.
