In 19th-century Macedonia, a young girl's innocence is shattered when an otherworldly force transforms her into a witch. As she roams the isolated mountains, her childlike curiosity and wonder morph into a macabre understanding of the world. Years pass as she assumes new identities, observing and mimicking the villagers' lives until the ancient spirit returns, reuniting them in a haunting cycle.
