Anthony Ramos

Anthony Paul Ramos Martinez, known professionally as Anthony Ramos, is an accomplished American actor and singer, born November 1, 1991. Ramos' journey began when he graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, progressing to work in stage musicals. He made a significant breakthrough in 2015 when he played the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway musical Hamilton. His performance was critically acclaimed and earned him nominations for major awards, such as the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series or Movie for the 2020 stage recording of the play. Ramos' film credits include supporting roles in 'A Star Is Born' (2018) and leading roles in 'In the Heights' (2021), earning him a Golden Globe nomination, and upcoming projects include 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' (2023) and 'Twisters' (2024). Ramos was raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City, where he discovered his Puerto Rican, African, Indigenous, and European heritage. Throughout his early years, Ramos dealt with the upheavals of his father's substance abuse, while pursuing his passion for singing through school assemblies and planning for a prospective baseball coaching career. Later, Ramos attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy on a full scholarship. Over the years, he has consistently demonstrated his acting versatility, securing roles in a variety of regional and touring productions and receiving widespread recognition for his performances. In addition to acting, Ramos is also successful in his music career, with tracks from his solo EP 'The Freedom EP' released in 2017 which was received with critical commendation. To date, he has completed two studio albums, 'The Good & The Bad' and 'Love and Lies' under Republic Records.
