Barry Bostwick

Barry Knapp Bostwick (born February 24, 1945) is an American actor widely recognized for his roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and the sitcom Spin City (1996–2002). Besides his work in TV and movies, Bostwick has a considerable background in musical theatre, even winning a Tony Award for The Robber Bridegroom and performing as Danny Zuko in Grease's original production. Born and raised in San Mateo, California, he began his acting career in San Diego's United States International University in 1967. In his early career, Bostwick was also part of "First National Nothing" and a pop band called The Klowns.

He replaced C.C. Courtney in the musical Salvation and took up leading roles in various mini-series such as George Washington and its sequel, A Woman of Substance, War and Remembrance, and Till We Meet Again. Moreover, he hosted the nationally televised annual Capitol Fourth celebration on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for eight consecutive years. His portrayal of a patient diagnosed with prostate cancer in Scrubs in 2003 reflects his real-life struggle with the disease. Bostwick's recent work includes a starring role in the short film Molly Robber and portraying Collin Winthrop in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, in addition to making notable guest appearances in several other TV series.
