Callum Keith Rennie

**Callum Keith Rennie** is a British-born Canadian actor, renowned for his work across numerous films and television series. He was born on September 14, 1960, in Sunderland, England, but moved to Canada at age four. He started his acting career at a relatively late age of 25, after his passion was ignited while working at the campus radio of the University of Alberta. His breakthrough role was as punk rocker Billy Tallent in the music mockumentary Hard Core Logo (1996), followed by a starring role as Det. Stanley Raymond Kowalski on Due South (1997–99). His diligent portrayals secured him a Genie Award for Best Actor following his performance in Last Night (1998). Rennie has not showed signs of stopping, embodying a wide array of characters in Battlestar Galactica, Californication, The Man in the High Castle, and Jessica Jones. Moreover, he recently played Commander Rayner on Star Trek: Discovery (2024). His work has earned him ample recognition including a Gemini Award and four Leo Awards. Rennie's career began on stage and gradually transitioned to screen, first appearing in the indie Canadian film Purple Toast in 1993. Thereafter, he assumed leading roles in various television films and series, earning him notoriety within the Canadian industry. He also had prominent roles in American series like The X-Files and La Femme Nikita. Rennie's turbulent yet captivating portrayals have consistently drawn audiences and critics alike. His signature portrayals of the complex and brooding man slipped into rows of diverse roles, from self-destructive rebels to self-controlled inspectors. He consistently performed in Canadian and U.S. TV series and films, stamping his presence over a wide span of characters and narratives. His recent work includes a role on The Man in the High Castle and Star Trek: Discovery. Offline, Rennie is an appreciator of art, particularly abstract expressionism, and is also an avid golfer.
