As Homer remains behind to sort through the garage’s messy clutter, Marge takes Bart and Lisa out for a pleasant Sunday drive. Unbeknownst to Homer, his struggle inadvertently leads to a life-saving scenario when he becomes trapped beneath the garage door. Fortunately, he is revived by the timely arrival of his family and the swift medical assistance from Lisa and Bart. That evening, Marge’s worries about their financial stability escalate, influenced by a captivating but dramatic “inspired by real-life” television movie she watches with Homer. In a panic, she begins hoarding inexpensive, low-quality products in a large jar, which frustrates Homer. As the family’s primary provider, he believes he should control their finances, prompting Marge to withdraw her emotional support, leading the couple into a competition for their children’s affection.

The situation intensifies when Homer secretly acquires a motorhome, which he enthusiastically parks in their backyard and starts referring to it as home. Marge is horrified by his extravagant decision and adamantly refuses to acknowledge the motorhome. Trying to establish his authority, Homer invites a group of fellow motorhome aficionados to hang out in their yard, further inciting Marge’s anger. In retaliation, she cuts off their electricity, creating a rift between Homer and his new buddies. The climax of this domestic chaos occurs when Bart and Lisa, fed up with their parents’ constant fighting, take matters into their own hands and attempt to return the motorhome to the dealership while their parents are preoccupied. However, their plan takes an unexpected turn when Homer and Marge excitedly chase after them, only to uncover a note left by their children expressing a desire for reconciliation.

Despite their efforts, Homer’s motorhome takes a wild plunge off an unfinished runaway truck ramp and lands on a Turkish freighter about to set sail. As the family boards the ship, Marge, using her culinary skills, charms the captain into turning the vessel around by offering him several cans of mushroom soup as goodwill gifts. In a comical twist, Homer’s attempts to bring the motorhome back to shore result in it sinking into the harbor. As they gather for dinner on the freighter, Marge candidly shares that she has surprisingly found peace in their financial mishap, enjoying the calming effects of hashish infused into her meal.
