Cathryn Rose "Casey" Wilson is an American actress, comedian, and screenwriter. Born on October 24, 1980, in Alexandria, Virginia, her early affinity for theatre led her to study at the Tisch School of the Arts and Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York. Wilson's career flourished when she joined Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 2008, becoming the first SNL member born in the 1980s. Her notable celebrity impressions and original characters, such as Dusty Velvet, a paralyzed stripper, and Toni Ward, co-host of "The Cougar Den," added to her fame. Post-SNL, Casey scored a prominent role in the ABC comedy series 'Happy Endings,' where she was twice nominated for Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Besides acting, Wilson has stamped her authorial voice in the successful comedy 'Ass Backwards,' which she co-wrote with her creative partner June Diane Raphael, and performed impressively in various films, including 'Gone Girl,' 'Julie & Julia,' and 'The Meddler'. More recently, Wilson got into podcasting, co-hosting the Earwolf podcast 'Bitch Sesh' with Danielle Schneider. She also played notable roles in television series such as Showtime's 'Black Monday' and Hulu's 'The Hotwives.' In addition, Wilson is involved in charitable work, running the Kathy Wilson Foundation to help children with disabilities. Finally, her book of essays, 'The Wreckage of My Presence,' got published and was listed in New York Times bestseller list for non-fiction works.
