Colin Morgan

Colin Morgan (born 1 January 1986) is an actor from Northern Ireland, known for his diverse roles in theatre, TV, and film. He first appeared in the BBC fantasy series Merlin (2008–2012), Leo Elster in Humans (2015–2018), and Billy Clanton in Kenneth Branagh's Belfast (2021). His theatre debut was in 2007 with DBC Pierre's Vernon God Little, and he's appeared in several more plays including Pedro Almodóvar's Todo sobre mi madre and Jez Butterworth's Mojo. With an acting career dating back to 2007, Morgan has been recognized multiple times for his performances, including nominations for Best Actor in Drama Performance: Male in the National Television Awards in 2013. In his early life, he started his studies at Integrated College Dungannon in 1997 where he starred in several college productions. Later, he graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2007. Morgan's theatre debut in London West End theatre was so impressive it was used as part of his final grade assessment. His contribution to arts was honored by the Belfast Metropolitan College with an Award of Distinction in 2010. He mainly focuses on his craft and tends to avoid the spotlight, abstaining from social media and critiquing celebrity culture. He is also known for his advocacy for ethical consumerism, his practice of yoga, and his adherence to a vegetarian diet due to lactose intolerance.
