Daisy Jazz Isobel Ridley, known professionally as Daisy Ridley, is an English actor who shot to stardom following her breakthrough role as Rey in the world-renowned Star Wars sequel trilogy - The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019). In addition to her iconic role in Star Wars, Ridley has shown her range and versatility by appearing in a host of other films. Notably, she featured in the mystery film Murder on the Orient Express (2017), portrayed the title character in the romantic drama Ophelia (2018), and had leading roles in the science fiction film Chaos Walking (2021), independent drama Sometimes I Think About Dying (2023), and psychological thriller The Marsh King's Daughter (2023).

Born on 10 April 1992 in London, England, Ridley grew up in Westminster and Maida Vale. She exhibited her passion for performing arts from an early age and won a scholarship to the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, an experience which honed her skills. Prior to her casting in Star Wars, Ridley worked as a bartender in London. In 2016, she commenced studying for a Bachelor of Arts in social science, demonstrating a drive for academic accomplishment alongside her acting career. In her personal life, Ridley has been candid about her health struggles, including endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome, which she was diagnosed with at age fifteen, and Graves' disease, diagnosed in 2023.
