Luke Skywalker has mysteriously disappeared, leaving a power vacuum that the sinister First Order exploits, rising from the remnants of the Empire and vowing to eliminate the last of the Jedi. In this dire time, General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), desperately seeking her brother’s aid to restore balance to the galaxy, leads a courageous Resistance. She sends her most daring pilot, Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), on a covert mission to Jakku, where he hopes to uncover a clue about Luke’s whereabouts.

Amidst a powerful attack on a small village by the First Order, Poe encounters Lor San Tekka and is entrusted with a precious map leading to Luke. However, tension escalates as Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) leads the stormtrooper assault, capturing Poe and executing Lor San Tekka. As chaos erupts, Poe manages to conceal the map within a rolling droid unit named BB-8. Meanwhile, a stormtrooper known as FN-2187 begins to question his loyalty after witnessing the brutality of the First Order.

On Jakku, Rey (Daisy Ridley), a young scavenger struggling to survive, encounters BB-8 after rescuing him from Teedo. Their intermingled fates connect as Poe endures grueling interrogations aboard the First Order’s starship. Yet, he remains resilient, and after a daring escape orchestrated by FN-2187, now named Finn, they find themselves united in their quest for freedom.

The duo’s adventures lead them to Rey, who initially believes Finn to be a resistance fighter. Together with BB-8, they evade the First Order’s relentless pursuit, hijacking the Millennium Falcon in a bid to flee Jakku. It’s here that Rey’s piloting skills awaken, and through thrilling dogfights with TIE fighters, they venture deeper into the cosmos.

Their journey takes them to the vibrant planet of Takodana, where they seek support from Maz Kanata. Amidst the tension and lurking spies, Rey stumbles upon Luke’s lost lightsaber, triggering a cascade of haunting visions. The urgency escalates as General Hux hatches a plan to obliterate the Republic through the Starkiller Base.

As the First Order’s forces advance, Rey and Finn must face the wrath of Kylo Ren. Strikingly, it is revealed that Ren is lamentably the son of Han and Leia, thus intertwining the destinies of these tenacious heroes. Finn battles against the darkness, showing bravery with the very lightsaber once wielded by Luke, but is ultimately overpowered.

…the stakes rise dramatically when Rey, confronting her fears, taps into the Force, unleashing her hidden abilities in a duel against Ren. The climax of their battle emerges as the planet crumbles beneath them, forcing a dramatic escape amid chaos.

Back at the Resistance Base, R2-D2 awakens, revealing crucial information about Luke’s location that Finn and Rey desperately seek. The saga culminates as Rey, alongside Chewbacca, journeys to the remote island of Ach-To. There, she is met by an aged Luke Skywalker, to whom she offers his lost lightsaber, signaling the dawn of a new era and the enduring legacy of hope.
