Don Cheadle

Donald Frank Cheadle Jr., also known as Don Cheadle, is an esteemed American actor and producer recognized for his versatile and gripping roles in film and television. His notable performances have garnered him numerous accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards, two Grammy Awards, and a Tony Award. He has also been nominated for an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards, and 11 Primetime Emmy Awards. Cheadle's acting prowess was first seen in supporting roles in films like Hamburger Hill, Colors, Devil in a Blue Dress, Rosewood, Boogie Nights, and Bulworth. He worked closely with the acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh in movies like Out of Sight, Traffic, and The Ocean's Trilogy. He earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Paul Rusesabagina in the historical drama film Hotel Rwanda. Cheadle was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and spent his early youth moving from city to city. His early schooling was at Hartley Elementary School in Lincoln, Nebraska, and he graduated in 1982 from East High School in Denver, Colorado. Cheadle continued his fine arts education at the California Institute of the Arts, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater in 1986.
