Eileen Walsh, born on 16 April 1977 in Cork, Ireland, is a talented Irish actress known for her compelling performances on both stage and screen. Her diverse credits range from powerful dramas like Miss Julie (1999), The Magdalene Sisters (2002), and Eden (2008), to acclaimed TV series like Pure Mule (2005) and Catastrophe (2015). Born into a Catholic household, Eileen initially had no intention of becoming an actress until she followed in her elder sister Catherine's footsteps.

Eileen's first significant role was the character Runt in the stage version of Disco Pigs in 1996, opposite Cillian Murphy. From there her career blossomed with notable roles in films such as Janice Beard 45 WPM and When Brendan Met Trudy. Her poignant performance as Crispina in The Magdalene Sisters gained critical acclaim, earning her a nomination for British Supporting Actress of the Year at the 2002 London Film Critics' Circle Awards. In 2008, she won the award for Best Actress at the Tribeca Film Festival for her portrayal of Breda, a lonely housewife, in the film Eden. Walsh continued to perform in films, including The Children Act (2017), Maze (2017), Wolf (2021), and Ann (2022). In 2023, Walsh was honored with the prestigious Maureen O’Hara Award at the Kerry Film Festival.
