Eliza Jane Scanlen, born on 6th January 1999, is an acclaimed Australian actress known for her diverse roles in both television and film. She surged to prominence with her portrayal of Tabitha Ford in the quintessential Australian soap opera, Home and Away in 2016. Subsequently, Scanlen received critical acclaim for her raw portrayal of a troubled teenager in the HBO miniseries, Sharp Objects (2018).

Scanlen further broadened her scope in 2019, venturing into films with sterling roles in the drama Babyteeth and Greta Gerwig's period drama Little Women. Recently, she depicted a young Eleanor Roosevelt in the Showtime series, The First Lady (2022), and starred in the enticing mystery film, Caddo Lake (2024). Scanlen's acting journey began during her high school years. She made her theater debut in the 2019 Sydney Theatre Company's production of Lord of the Flies. She wowed audiences with her performance as Milla Finlay in Shannon Murphy's Babyteeth, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Her directorial debut came with the controversial Australian short film Mukbang, for which she also penned the screenplay. Currently, she continues to capture audiences with her committed performances, such as Jem Starling in The Starling Girl (2023), which earned critical acclaim.
